Am hoping the rain stays away from Stratford tonight to enhance the chances of Dennis the Legend in the 3m4f hunter chase. Currently 18s on Betfair. he took the Novice chase here last year same distance and g/frm ground - this is a tougher contest but you have to believe that he's been readied for this one big pot. You have to say his jumping can be iffy but he's a strong bugger who has not fallen and believe me he has clouted some in his time.

Last year he beat home Hemington who obliged for us yesterday in the novice hunter

I have no doubt this has been his target and redied for this has run twice in this class beating home 84% of his opponents.

last time out at Worcester over a trip too short he opened 9/2 and was backed into 3/1 so there is confidence in his well being.

Health Warning
The ground is critical against these tonight anything worse than Good to firm makes me waver a bit as it brings in animals that are better on good ground - one that I like if there is some cut is Simonsburg who is in cracking form - was going like a train this track and this time last year (and 7/4 Fav) was making really smooth headway at the 13th and pulling a cart when it fell.

Good Luck

8.20 Stratford 3m4f chase

Interesting race brings some decent pointers into play - Horsham lad is a very good favourite based on its only run over park fences that was on soft ground and only 3m--
O'brien has another in the race in the shape of Bradley who only got going late at Cheltenham and this track will help it over the extra distance - If the race was at Cheltenham I would def side with this one of the two he jumped the fences well for a hunter

Glacial Call was in tremendous form at Exeter where she booted away from them and looks an out and out stayer, any money will be significant from this yard they dont punt often but
.
The joker in the pack tonight is definitely Hemington from the Scudamore yard -ran in this last year making enough of a stumble at the last to halt its momentum - stays forever and loves the ground - finished an honourable third that day behind Dennis the legend and Bob Bites back 7l clear of the 4th.
Interest to me was it was punted last run at Plumpton where he was quite well supported and had run a decent trial for this race finishing 4th on the 15th of march.
he comes with a health warning as he misses them out but am assured this is the race they have targeted for him. Currently you can get 26/1 betfair and he was as high as 50 and is steadily being taken.
Last year the favourite fell so the form a bit misleading with all three in the frame at double figures.
My selection is Hemington each way soon as he will end up around the 14/1 mark if he's on song

Good Luck - Bob

27 may at newcastle 8.10 2mile Sendali holds a great chance this race - some rain this afternoon will be worth a couple of pounds that's for sure. Currently 7/1 -13/2 and have taken the 7s (Bethell yard loves a punt )with a bet in running as it loves to jog along at the back ...His mark means he needs to run to the same level as his last run here (I made him getting 53 and he runs off that mark tonight.) looking at the form book he has run this distance 8 times with a 78% strike rate and on this track has come second and won at this distance and ground was both g/sft and g/frm.

this term has been out twice on the flat winning the first at Redcar and next at Catterick both of which does not really suite this galloper. my mark for him was 53 as opposed to the Official rating of 50.
my notebook says always back this one at newcastle and see no reason to be worried that he cant do it again tonight

good luck to anyone reading this - would love any comment to the contrary or selection

Visual Form Book

Hi Guys just started blogging so bear with me till I settle down.

Ok some facts - have been racing many years with experience of on course betting through my family and some work in the betting shops before the big guns took over.
My greatest love is National Hunt racing -and have been to most tracks over the years

You cannot bet at the races without a comprehensive form book that means find a recording system where you can take notes notes notes. Sounds a bit like hard work? then follow the tipsters because your not really interested in the sport.

Betfair is my Mecca for two good reasons - laying and the withdraw button! Full knowledge of how your doing is a must and I have to say any day where my bank + is exceeded I hit the withdraw button and if I pass on anything at all its that - Hit the withdraw Button.

So this blog is for those who are interested in form no matter what aspect.

If I have a penchant its horses for courses. I love the bigger punts on of all things Bumpers and Hunter Chasers where there is real money to be made at outrageous odds. Trainers for tracks and trainer/jockey combination all have to be recognised --- so from Day to day I will give a selection with the reasons why and would love to have that particular race to be part of any reply you may want to make -- want to build up a readership where its more information rather than guesswork

thats all the off the cuff stuff look forwards to any post or comment from you
