Sandown the place to be Saturday 10th March 2012

Going: Chase - Good, good to soft in places  Hurdle - Good to soft, soft in places (home straight), Good, good to soft in places (back straight)  First race: 2.05pm  


Forecast: Dry overnight and expected to remain dry and mild. Knowing Sandown as I do the hurdles course can well be softer than the clerk suggests and times after the first should be checked but for now am analysing on the basis of soft .


2.05  in the main look at the 5 and 6 yr olds in this race with three top weights winning in last 10 years and 8 of the 10 winners  in single figure prices.  - BETTING FORECAST: 13/2 Speed Master, 8/1 Carrigmorna King, 8/1 Dualla Lord, 8/1 Off The Ground, 9/1 Merry King, 11/1 Grove Pride, 12/1 Presenting Ace, 14/1 Jumps Road, 14/1 Kuilsriver, 16/1 Aikideau, 16/1 Ambion Wood, 16/1 Kings Lodge, 16/1 Same Difference, 16/1 Thanks For Coming, 20/1 Thomas Crapper, 25/1 Elsafeer, 25/1 Gleann Eagas, 33/1Moorland Sunset.


Horses that attract me are Jump Road for the tizzards - loves heavy ground and could be progressive  and KullsRiver for Gifford under Hutchinson 

but I have a real fancy for Ambian Wood under top weight - this is his target and a very decent profile - even with top weight this one has an enormous shout at 20/1 - I was at the track when he got second in the bumper around here on this ground - has been running well in graded hdles  he still looks rather raw and could have some strengthening left to do. Even softer ground would have suited him and he should get 3m in time.


2.40 Song Sung Blue has top weight but in my book has a few pounds in hand. Won at a hack canter over 2miles here but has won on soft ground over 3m2f  top weights do well in this race and he is a course winner most of the fancied horses are in the older brigade who have not done well in the race for the last 10 years  BETTING FORECAST: 2/1 Martys Mission, 4/1 Song Sung Blue, 13/2 Ballyfoy, 13/2 Qhilimar, 8/1 Richard´s Sundance, 12/1 Prophete De Guye, 12/1 The Sawyer, 14/1 Dover´s Hill, 16/1 Plum Pudding, 25/1 Auroras Encore.


3.15 - the big one today (see post of stats below) you have to look at the youngsters with an improving profile and that brings to the fore Ile De Ray who is highly progressive course winner can go on any ground and had the form in the book on the flat has a feather weight  - would not put you off the place market animal put up in the earlier post and just a reminder that Highest placed finisher from Betfair. Don't Settle For Less H’cap Hurdle 18/02/12 ascot : 121P (2-1-4) is Art Professor who is a mouthwatering 50/1 shot and the stats say can get into the 4 places and I took the  each way and 11/1 betfair place earlier this morning .BETTING FORECAST: 7/2 Ted Spread, 9/2 Master Of Arts, 10/1 Devil To Pay, 10/1 Ile De Re, 10/1 Sire De Grugy, 16/1Celtus, 16/1 Nampour, 20/1 Chesil Beach Boy, 20/1 Johns Spirit, 20/1 Pateese, 22/1 Pascha Bere, 25/1 Art Professor, 25/1Ciceron, 25/1 First In The Queue, 25/1 Lucaindubai, 25/1 Paintball, 25/1 Swift Lord, 25/1 Torphichen, 33/1 Zanir, 40/1 El Dancer, 40/1 Monetary Fund, 40/1 Rowan Tiger, 50/1 Ascendant, 50/1 Grafite.


Bumper at 3.50 - favs have not won this in 10 runnings ! and its the ground that catches them out IMO no great variation in weights and winning form is a big plus - A mares bumper with a great deal of promise and I cannot for the life of me see why Cheery Lady is going off at 25/1 when she is running against Call Me A Star at 11/4 was ridden by Ed Cookson last time and he just could not hold her she had no chance burning herself out early - Tom Scu gets the ride today and must be an each way chance - as you regular readers know i take a gret deal of notice of fontwell winners over 1m6f and therefore Buxom comes into the reckoning on her pillar to post win which she franked over 2miles at Ludlow  in a battle with Whichever who was receiving 7lbs
