had a total of 8mm of rain, and the going has eased a touch and is now good to firm.
this is an intriguing race and any more rain will be appreciated by all the runners.
last year Abragante 8 yr old 11-12 broke the track record went off at 8/1.
The horse to take notice of in that Race was Stagecoach Amber currently 14/1 betfairwho cracked off a blistering pace and only finished one and a half length behind the winner that was good form - ran off adjusted handicap of 128 that day and gets in here today off 118 carrying the same 11stone this is a dedicated front runner and i expect the same tactics today. He has been trained to the minute for this race having had only one run so far this season and was going so well till hit the 11th - has had a decnt rest and will carry my money today.
If the speed merchants do go off like stink then there is a big priced in running bet for this race Native Coral currently 20/1 betfair. Will lay midfield until before the home bend - if he is there and jumping as soundly as he does normally even at the age of 12 he is a brill in running bet loves the track and distance to bits his record here is better than anywhere else running off an adjusted figure of 115 today he has in my book won around here this distance good ground off 124 only his 12 year old legs stop me from saying he will def win and the betting reflects that.
Am on at current prices and asking for a biggie in running on Native Coral
good luck all
Post Race ---
result ---
1 Native Coral 16/1 -
2 Quito Du Tresor 7/2
3 Stagecoach Amber 11/1
asked for 30s in running and my internet lost its connection so did not see what the price went out too! have been told it went to 90s !
stagecoach Amber made one really bad jump at the water - was chasing the leader hard at that point and was a good sit by Mercer --- the horse will not be penalised for this third and worthy of a bet if ok from this
those of you who took my advice thanks for your kind words
Bob
