The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes

Post Race --- Arguably the most eagerly anticipated race of the season so far, with the participation of the Epsom Derby hero for the first time since Kris Kin in 2003 the focal point.

Although this year´s field was a small one, reduced following the defection of Dar Re Mi, it was stacked with quality, as alongside the favourite there was the Irish Derby winner, an easy Hardwicke victor, a three-time Arc runner-up and a Hong Kong Vase winner.

Confront ensured they went a decent gallop, nothing more through the early stages, but it slowly increased and the race was set up for something to stamp its class in the straight, and it did. Many of Flat racings greats have won the King George, too many to name in fact, and HARBINGER may well go on to be one of those greats having put in a devastating performance that will live long in the memory, winning by a remarkable 11l and taking 0.46secs off the previous course record.

Having been responsible for the first three a year ago, Stoute again had a strong grip on the race, but surely even the master of Freemason Lodge could not have foreseen a performance such as this from his 4yo son of Dansili, who at this stage a year ago had only won a Chester maiden.

Making his debut at Group 1 level, following an impressive victory in last month´s Hardwicke over C&D (race worked out exceptionally well), Olivier Peslier was aboard the winner for the first time, with Moore predictably staying loyal to Workforce, and things could not have gone more smoothly. Always travelling with consummate ease on the tail of his stablemate, Harbinger was absolutely running away as they began to turn for home, with the cracks having already well and truly opened up on his five other rivals, and the response was electrifying when he was finally asked to assert, sprinting clear in the final furlong for one of the easiest ever victories in this historic race.
yesterdays blog ---- The other 4yr old is Harbinger who my ratings are above Workforce for its run here in the Hardwick stakes - gave it 107 that day 1m4f G/frm ground Recent winners have been fairly evenly spread among the age groups but four-year-olds had a clear numerical advantage this time, andHARBINGER improved their record. After winning a Group 3 at Newbury on his seasonal reappearance, he had beaten subsequent Gold Cup runner-upAge Of Aquarius in the Ormonde next time. A well-backed odds-on favourite once his main rival Alainmaar was withdrawn in the morning, he won in straightforward fashion. That is really great form for horses for courses. that was a group 2 race and winners dont figure in the stats for winners of this race - I would not put you off backing this animal at all---

hope you got on ! - next ten year trends are for The Sussex Stakes's one of two group 1 races that take place during the 5-day Glorious Goodwood Festival, which kicks off on Tuesday 27th July. It’s the highlight of Wednesday’s card. Could last year’s winner Rip Van Winkle take on the St James Palace 1-2, Canford Cliffs and Dick Turpin.? - there are some trend this race you dont want to miss
good luck Bob
