Some of the heavy rain forecast has arrived - 5mm had fallen by 9.50am.( 8-10mm of rain is forecast from 7am.)Clerk of the course Sulekha Varma has just tweeted: "Will walk course again at 12am and update you gotta watch out for rain and this track can go from g/frm to soft in a twinkling Much of the form on this card should be treated with a caution as the majority of runners are good or fast ground performers who wont be suited by softer ground.
Summer hdle listed handicap 2m .(2.05)
have set my analyser for g/soft and that definitely brings in Laterly who won his last two and showed what a brilliant mover this animal is on any ground - at aintree on good ground he achieved a figure of 125 making all despite jumping right handed he pinged his hlds but his run at Huntigdon was on soft ground and put himself down as a very progressive animal indeed he runs off his mark today at 126
Knight in Purple is a favourite animal of mine but am not so sure how he will handle anything deeper than good the way he travels same applies to Rio Gale Visored first time (back from Fencing and off a very good mark today Moore for Bowen is a tremendous pointer first time at mark rasberry)
so on the basis of the ground going any deeper am taking the two highligted each way with a slight preference for Laterly And if the ground goes no worse than soft a small win bet on Knight in Purple
