15th April - Ayr Golfers Crossing

HI guys
Two day meeting at Ayr starts today and the cards look pretty damn good - going is good -good to soft with light drizzle forecast  am concentrating on the well being of Lucinda Russell and Cambell Gillies  Golfers Crossing as my only bet today in the 2.50. I really do like this horse and its upped to 3miles is all good in my book. Its win at Kelso over 2m6f  class 4 showed a really good turn of foot at the end of the race and they could not live with him from the last and he romped away up the hill unchallenged. Was then taken to Hexham over an inadequate 2m4f  class 3 on soft ground and made favourite for that event - was running a really neat race to the bend at the top of the hill then dropped away tamely. Golfers needs every yard of this 3miles today - has won a point on good ground over 3miles at Athacca  (Ire) carrying 12-00 - track is pretty similar to Ayr but dont have a great many details of it!
its opposition is pretty hot today and the prob favvy's are from Henderson yard Geraghty   Master Fiddle and Wilson trained Mccoy ridden Yes Tom - both decent hurdlers in their own right.-
Trends for this race are not good for horses above 7 yrs old and at 8 Golfers Crossing does not fit that trend but Lucinda yard is flying and def top in form trainer with 4-10 in last 14 days.  (40%)  Golfers is at the right weight for past winners and the last 2 years has gone to horses in this price range (currently 20s on betfair I expect the price to shorten into about 12s ) and is a back to lay animal. It has two entries this meeting which includes the hands and heels event tomorrow over 2m4f
best of luck today guys  will put up the Scottish national trends tonight
