Fontwell - some decent types here today 190411

See Martin (who had a winner yesterday in the naps table) goes for the hardest novice chase and Moore for Moore Fruity O'rooney against the King trained Swansbrook and Nichols trained American Trilogy.(American Trilogy holds the highest Mr and its win at kempton was impressive - its run at Cheltenham less so and the fact he ran there puts me off.)
To be honest its always a worry to back against the Moore's at Fontwell but I really do like the chances of kings horse (king has outstanding figures for the spring with his novice chasers and its last run was pretty good at Leicester on g/frm ground beating a 3 horse field out of sight. Went  down on his nose jumping the eighth and losing a length or two. However, he was back in front jumping two out and soon pulled right away from his wilting rival. It seems unlikely that he had to run up to his mark of 124 to win this the way he did, but connections believe that this ground was quick enough for him. Ground at Fontwell is seldom that quick and I think he has an outstanding chance of running to his mark today is an improving chaser. But never nap in a Novice chase is good enough reason for me to shy away from the contest.

I am tempted by another race at 4.20 Midnight Macarena   but will hold my horses and see how the lad gets on have been waiting for this animal to get fast ground and she has got it today and its a race confined to mares under Aspell - nice lil mare needs good ground was sent off favvy plumpton on heavy ground - johnson said was never travelling had ben second in its hurdling debut to Rizzala  in a mares hdle on g/soft and had won its bumper really well on good ground at fontwell. The current Favourite is Sorcillera Flint for Flint tried at 2m2f after its late run against the Henderson hot pot at Ffoss lass -nicely bred for jump racing and returned to something close to the performance she put up on her British debut with a brave effort. She ought to win an ordinary contest if running up to her best. Just that Flint and son seem to be in the doldrums at the moment

 Good luck today all

Well done Martin did it well in the end - pity Swansbrook was withdrawn before the start - thought the mare Topsham Belle is worthy of a notebook entry when she comes up against her own sex - as long as henderson puts some headgear on her that is

well just as well had a decent winner at the start of the naps month cos that one simply did not fire at any stage in what turned out to be a horrible race -
