DFS PARK HILL STAKES (GROUP 2) (FILLIES & MARES) (CLASS 1)

3 oclock at Doncaster (FILLIES & MARES) (CLASS 1) (3yo+) Winner £45,368 CH4
Good 1m6f132y

Three-year-old's had taken six of the last ten running's and the classic generation usually have the fore in this race
Fillies that have run well in the oaks have with a layoff since look to be where we should be putting the pin but there are none that went to Epsom this year. Looking for an animal that satisfies that stat you have to look at Meeznah who was held up the oaks last year and came with a storming run to lead inside the furlong only to be beaten a neck by Snow Fairy she has performed well over the distance at Goodwood on g/frm ground where she looked brilliant for this race - then in in-explicable to my eyes ran against the boys at newbury where she did not have a chance (again take alook at what won the race  as the boys are entered for the race on Saturday)
You have to look at the 3 yr olds as well  Both the probable favourite Set to Music who really is bred for this distance  and Gold plated (who is by far the biggest improver in the field but bred from Selkirk who does not have much better that 1m4f form) watch her finish over 1m4f at Leopardstown ) where she did nothing till the finishing straight - then say she can’t do this distance.
There has only been two winners of this race bigger that double figures in the last 10 years so am happy with the chances of Meeznah for the win but am impressed enough with Gold Plated to play the big price on betfair place market
good luck its a great race

Result ---- A decent renewal of the Park Hill, with three coming into this on a winning streak and a strong challenge from across the Irish Sea. Recent winners of the race were a fairly even split between the 3yos and the older horses.

The pace was strong from the off, so this was a proper test at the trip and they finished well spread out.

MEEZNAH finished third in this race last year and was a winner over this trip at Goodwood in July, but ran too badly to be true when favourite for the Geoffrey Freer last time. She bounced back to her very best here, though, racing comfortably in mid-division before being sent for home over 2f out. She lengthened very nicely when asked to go and win her race and took this with real authority. She is now beginning to confirm the form she showed when beaten a neck by Snow Fairy in last year´s Oaks and it will be interesting to see where she goes next.

Set To Music was bidding for a five-timer and had three of these behind her when successfully stepping up to 1m4f in the Galtres Stakes at York last month. She looked to be travelling better than the winner when slipstreaming her passing the 2f pole, but she was moving into unknown territory distance-wise at that stage and she could make no further impression on her rival.

Polly´s Mark had a bit to find with a few of today´s rivals on her last two efforts and finished behind Meeznah in this last year. Off the bridle over 2f out, she shied away to her right and may have been caught by a rival´s whip, but then bumped into another rival and hung back the other way. She was third-best on merit, however, and probably ran her race.

Cracking Lass ran poorly in both previous tries over this trip, but seemed to respond well to blinkers when chasing home Set To Music at York last month. However, she didn´t repeat the performance in the headgear, dropping herself out and hanging before the home straight before running on past beaten rivals.

Goldplated has been in cracking form in handicaps over shorter in Ireland lately, but she never made much impression here and held her head high when off the bridle over 2f from home. She had upwards of 10lb to find with her rivals, so faced a stiff task in any case.
