Todays racing is a bit of a bore!

Too many 2 yr olds today at Newmarket makes this a day of watching rather than betting and market could be less than dependable.
have turned my attention to the 2mile 4.30 which has some solid stats and decent animals for this contest on the predicted g/frm ground. This contest is won in the main by animals from the top stayers lines.
4 yr and 5 yr olds hold sway in this race which has been run at Ascot  and now transferred back to this track. Has gone to three favs in the last 10 years but prices are in the main in single figures with 5 within the single figure range and 28/1 16/1 and 50/1.
Only I mare has won it in 10 years and that was with the allowance - but that stat takes nothing away from Fictional Account who though not getting the full allowance she does get in very well here and remember she did beat home Fame and Glory over 14flngs on good ground -  having been beaten by him three times previously that season. She was ridden much more handily this time, getting to the front two furlongs out and despite edging right hand hampering the third-placed horse, she really stayed on strongly and was always holding Fame.  She is a tough and game filly, and is not here for the boat ride. She won the race last year at Ascot on the ground she has today and the rise of 3lbs from that race is not going to stop her
Update 1.30 forgot to say that End of the Affair is another from the Ward yard that has to be seriously considered as a big outsider wearing the blinkers for the second time is a plus - sure it has to be in peak form and a personal best but has Manning on board and he has a decent 17% strike rate when he comes over to Newmarket. Watch out for money coming for this one the current 22s is way too big for this 7 yr old -Ward is a canny trainer and though may be there to make a pace that seems a lil too big an idea from a trainer with such a small string.

The other I like is Theology under Buick this animal thrives on this ground and distance  bred from Galileo has not had a lot of running this term - Buick gets on well with him and you have to think this has been its target for the season.
