Newbury class cards today 170212

The going is forecast good to soft and the three races brought in from last Saturdays card.
12.10 a fantastic line up for a race that normally goes to the first or second favourite with the biggest priced winner going off at 5/1 nine years ago. Nichols has farmed the race with five of the last 10 running. horses have previously taken in Ascot Cheltenham  as prep races before coming here. 2 winners have carried top weight but were sent off in single figures  French Opera (who has won well fresh in the past won it last year off 11-05 has had wind operation; first run for 300 daysand informative to see how he goes in the betting against stablemate Sprinter Sacre but giving him 5lb looks tough.  past winners Master Minded and  Azertyuiop have come back and won it for the send year carrying top weight. Both having been beaten into a place on their previous outing.
Watch out for Betting on French Opera who is currently 12/1 but has had some money already  Zaynar is a favourite animal of mine has speed and jumping fluency that is going to be fully to the test today and a front runner with style I think he can fill the minor Honours and will be backed for the place - Forecast Sprinter Sacre and Zaynar - with the warning that French Opera should be watched for a bet in running

12.40 Not such  a favourite's card with only 3 winning in the last 10 years -  What  Friend  is a serious threat to long Run in this on form  and again is in a race that has been Farmed by Nichols (also runs Tidal bay under Ruby ) However My money will be on Hendersons Burton Port  who will find this race right up its street Runs so well fresh and loves track and ground - was backed steadily before its run behind Diamond Harry in the Hennesssy here - had Long Run behind him in the RSA and is a seriously underrated horse.

1.15 from  the previous posting of this race last week Via Galilei  today quoted at 40/1 ran Ubi Ace to a head  is above his highest winning mark but has been running really well recently in strong handicaps and went really close to gaining reward for his good form. The form of both of these can be measured by Ubi Ace run last time at newbury in the listed event He travelled well into contention off this mark against Celestial Halo on soft but was unable to close down the principals in the latter stages. This was still a creditable effort. For £50,000 race put it in with a great shout
Sportingbet Conditional Jockeys' H’cap Hurdle winner (Empire Levant): 1 (1-0-1) quoted at 14/1  seriously good Newbury horse who won a minor race over 2m1f g/soft and came out quickly within 6 days to be beaten by Rock on Ruby in a listed event last time has been hiked up from 128 to 140 as a result though – Daryl Jacobs will bust a gut to get this one home ahead of Zarkandar who was his original ride but now jocked off by Ruby!

Anniversary 4yo Hurdle winner (Zarkandar) quoted at 3/1 : 703 (0-1-3) – what can you say – its a highly progressive animal carrying 11-01 he has mark around 154 and gets in this race first handicap at 151and Ruby Walsh has claimed it over Daryl Jacobs its regular pilot I think that could win the Champion Hurdle it is a worthy favourite and will have to be backed to save your stakes not run for 336 days – is that a worry? the results say yes and the others who performed well in that race did not so well in this and they looked formidable as well!
Triumph Hurdle winner (Zarkandar): 05 (0-0-2)
The Ladbroke winner (Raya Star): P0P (0-0-3)
32Red Handicap Hurdle winner (Ciceron): 807 (0-0-3)
4 of 10 winners ran in the Bavaria Imported Premium Lager H'cap Hurdle, finishing 3173 (  Via Galilei ran Ubi Ace to a head  is above his highest winning mark but has been running really well recently in strong handicaps and went really close to gaining reward for his good form.Others that attract at this early stage  Third Intention quoted at 14/1 down from 25/1  appeals on its course form and run last time at Taunton 25/1 into 14/1seventh in last season´s Triumph and beaten 8l off this mark in the Greatwood , appreciated the drop in grade to class 2 handicap and came strong in the latter stages of the race, but attempting to concede 21lb to the winner proved too much. (Is well weighted for this class 1)

 Good luck All

Damn forgot this one Soldenito has def chances this race - take a look at Last years race where he was heavily backed against Recession Proof - has an absence to over come and is a bit of a fizzy animal - but money for him will be significant --
you pays your money you take your chances

nice mate, nice mate a cannot wiat until racing starts, had a look at your old review of the race but will have a look now at it. Im trying imo like yesterday, when I didnt look into VFB at all and just observed the animals in the ring, there is def some interesting learning from that approach but as I said its a learning and I need def a subsription to good racing tv, as i need at least 5 minutes careful quiet and good observation with good quality pictures of the horses and betfair stream opens most of the time 3 min before and fats decisions are always doomed to fail. A combination of knowing strenghts of animals from video beforehand and a observation how they look the day they race is i guess the best way to approach it. I was yesterday surprised, how well the animals I picked out performed and this was just based without previous form knowledge. So Today im going to try the same again to see if this was a oneday luck or if this approach makes some sense.

You were completely right about Burton Port in this race.
