Newbury 14.05 2m3f Novice Hurdles

Claret Cloak 5.5 BSP has a very nice price for his Novice Hurdling Debut.

I noted this horse in a Class 6 Bumper in Wincanton on G-Soft Ground, where it made such a stunning cruiing finish, that I had to back it next time out in a huge step up in class in a Listed Class 1 Bumper in Ascot, when it went 2nd, but couldnt find the gear like in his race before. This was Soft Ground and it wasnt a suited race to his running. Today G-S, step down in class, 3f more, now just need a terrific pace to attack prominent from the bridle. This horse made an immense impression on me on that day in Wincanton and should be hard to beat.
It was ridden held up that day by Jack Doyle, who rode it naturally and gave the horse its own rythm. Hes back on board today, as Sam Thomas rode the horse leading and didnt seem to get a handle on it really LTO. One worry though, hopefully there are some pacesetters in this, a steady pace would be of great importance.

Upham Atom
24 BSP 2.35 Newbury 3m G-S Ch3

Except left handed track has this horse everything in its favour
in Newbury today. It needs fast pace, which should be there through the big field, a galloping flat track and Good to Soft ground, then it has every chance to win this here, when attacking from the bridle. I noted this horse in Wincanton under these conditions, when it fell looking extremely strong on the runin. LTO it was a very tight finish on an unsuited track and it could have won also it was close. Races from the same mark today and odds of 24 BSP at Betfair despite a slight left handed doubt are too big.
There are Front runners in this race and this is positive.

Bellvano 3.3 BSP in the 13.30 Newbury

I just have the feeling this horse has some potential and his LTO perfromanc against Al Ferof wasnt that bad after the long layoff. Just think its a greta price, as The favvy didnt convince me against Spirit Son, looks not too strong and Lidar just to weak LTO in the closing stages.

Hi rade thanks for the post - the 2.05 race has a record for favs winning the last 6 runnings - from 9
I will be very interested in the running of a no hoper in this race - My brother was at taunton for its run Inspector Quics was never put in the race at all simply there for the stroll worked very well but kept so far back it was travelling in its stages as fast as the front runners - he went to the ring to watch it come in and it had not raised a sweat looked compact and happy -- was told to watch it for a small race soon -- and the trainer has put it into this one (way above its class shown) -- you have to wonder why - no its not a bet but it is def a watcher for something down the line - he could have a future mate
Good luck today will only be able to watch the replays tonight good luck

in the 2.35 have left a bet for IKORODU ROAD who is a beautifully framed animal and a wonderful mover and fighter - went down all guns blazing to Harry The Viking last time at Doncaster - likes the track and this run in will bring out the very best in him back to 3miles should be no worry and has achieved a mark in my book of 129 so has a few pounds in hand today this is a head to head with you - one that will have to wait for the nights replays

In the Newbury 13.00 opener, I will bet Sud Pacifique and Art History in opposing the ho fav here. Sud Pacifique by Montjeu will love the step up and Ground and hacked up nicely in a Class Flat race LTO and Art History is a ground worry, but reflected in the odds, as it travelled very sweetly LTO in Donc as a hot fav until ran out.

Lol Bob won the Head o Head again, nice one, Ikorodu Road really travels beautifully, I backed it Inrunning at 9.8 and it looked always strong, to say it bluntly about Upham Atom, wrong track jumps right handed and a bit to tough opposition, the pace was good.
Claret Cloak, have the feeling it was a oneday perf in Wincanton that day, just got a good cruise. Bellvano, didnt watch the race yet, but went down 1.04 Inrunning and stopped online I guess.

CLARET CLOAKS LOOKS A LIVE ONE that was a pretty good performance in all being eased right down after putting up a very good display - yard obv thought it was cherry ripe looks likely improver he wants a distance of ground and looks a bit of a daisy cutter - prob a summer jumper Rade and note booked accordingly
