5.30 Salisbury 1m6f 10/10/11

funny ole handicap nd plenty with chances - only 2 previous runnings and the animals have been pretty decent prices - both carried higher weights and both 5 yr olds - its the series final and it pays to look for animals that have done well at Ascot or haydock on last run and that brings in Spice Fair who ran a decent race behind Thimaar over 2miles at Ascot and has Hughes on-board today. It has all the blues for todays run

I also have a hankering for a big run from Ethics Girl who is running without the tongue tie today it was running a fantastic race last time just happy as larry on the bit when it got stopped in its tracks and could not recover John Berry hardly ever brings his animals to Salisbury and though am backing two in the race i am making Ethics Girl my nap for the Vfb
 good luck all

Result  - the winner won well (not sure about the whip numbers though!) have put it up as a future winner in distance races including any attempt at hdles

A fair staying handicap.

HIGH ON A HILL didn´t look obviously well handicapped, hence an SP of 28-1, but he reversed Warwick form from September 29 with Ethics Girl  (went down to 3s in running for a very decent profit)and proved good enough. He won´t appeal off a higher mark next time. but as this race has been won by really decent animals in the past have put it into my analyser

The lightly raced Mazagee proved herself every bit as good as she is on Polytrack with what was probably a career best.

Spice Fair would have been even closer had he not faltered near the line. He remains on the up, but has had a busy campaign. again easy to get a very good profit as it went down to my asking lay price very quickly

Miss Topsy Turvy, up 6lb for winning over 1m4f at Thirsk, ran creditably without confirming she wants this trip.

Jimmy Fortune, the rider of Billy Buttons, reported the gelding ran too free. Andrew Balding´s runner was up 3f in trip but gave himself little hope of seeing it out. lay suggestion  by the canny Martin

despite not in the frame this was a good race for punting and got in for the win big and therefore the lay was solid- Martin did well to lay the favourite - but as for the VFb --- BUGGER
