VFB naps table 291011

Such good racing today and have been leaving the naps table alone in the main looking to win it with a big priced animal has not payed off but its still the way to go - especially as have so much ground to make up in the next two days!
am pinning some hope on the 3.40 at Ascot and siding with my perennial nap horse Dovers Hill in this contest.
just a superbe on to follow animal that can run a race first time out - its no forlorn hope in the current exchanges at 26s and could smash these off this mark - yep he makes mistakes and yes it ran in this last year into 5th off a 10lbs lower mark but this front runner has a really lovely action - no mistake this is a very good race - where i expect him to dominate - out of Pistolet Bleu its a sound pedigree for the distance and its dams sire Fairy king has speed on its side  its run at market Rasen was very good indeed  my notes -
030411 cs3 3miles good ground - mark of about 136 recorded Dah of 140 This looked a very tight affair between the three market leaders, but the talented DOVER´S HILL had the race sewn up off the home turn and he made all in tremendous fashion. He has really got his act together this season and showed his class when winning at Wincanton last month. Again he had his ideal conditions here and he jumped boldly in the main, his only semblance of an error coming two out.The winner could well be capable of winning off this mark in a handicap now his confidence will be sky high

good luck in your naps today  ladies and gentlemen

HI Bob, my username was radelnblueangel in the VFB forum before maybe you remember. I go with you today with Dovers Hill, youre right could make it from the front is very lovely at odds of 28. My bets for Ascot today are:

13.55 2m3f Hcp Hurdles

-Lay Arab League 7 BSP
-Back Batonnier 6.0 BSP+place
-Back Richmond 8.0 BSP+place

-I have a Lay on Arab League at odds of 7. Won from the Front an ordinary Class 4 Novice Hurdles in Fontwell over 2m4f LTO, doesnt jump flowlessly and better suited for 16 furlongs. Had LTO Fontwell as a suiting track and ran before a similar effort as a 2nd in Plumpton Novice Hurdles Class 4, is 6 year old already and today I see no chance in this field.
-I backed Batonnier yesterday at low odds of 6.00 but for one reason LTO ran a cracker 2nd against Granddads Horse, but jockey had bad jumping timing on the last. Looking at the follow up form of Granddads Horse who won after this outing a Class 3 6K Hcp in Stratford over 19f and landed 4 consecutive wins, i have to consider Batonniers form here as sound solid, looks capable of winning a Class 4 Hcp Hurdles now.
-Richmond is here in this race my main victory contender. LTO looking like the likely winner when fell at the last hurdle. Winner from this race scored after a 1st in a Class 4 Hurdles in Punchestown 15k and a 3rd in a Class 1 Listed Hrdl 17k. Before Richmond had a very good 2nd with photofinish over 19f Class 4 in Warwick on Soft Ground, closed at decent pace a great gap and finished very strongly. Today its the right Hcp and opposition to win this race at decnt odds.

Ascot 14.30 2m1f Hcp Chase

-Back Takeroc 3.6 BSP

Nothing beats Takeroc if he repeats the form from LTO 6 days ago. Only concern the short break but ran at a good pace a cracking race LTO looked well capable of having more to come. Ibacked it yesterday at 3.6, thats the only shame.

Ascot 15.00 2m Hcp Hurdles

-Back Topolski 8.0 BSP-to place
-Back Elsafeer 9.4 BSP-to place
-Back Kumbeshwar 7.8 BSP- to place
-Lay A Media LUZ 9.0 BSP
-Lay Brampour 13.0 BSP

- Topolski LTo entered in a 12f HCp Flat race for fitness purposes in my eyes. Before in April in Aintree run held up close behind the field and finished like a train in a very fast run Class 1 Nhg2. Beat the two young 4 year old A Media Luz and Brampour by miles. Looked really strong. If the field arrives today close at the finish I cannot see anything beat Topolski in Top Form.
-Elsafeer is a lovely Front Runner who jumps in a flow like a hero, never looses speed in his jumping, really makes good ground from the jumping and looks capable of making it again from the front to me.
-Kumbeshwar looks the promising 4 year old here the stamina type horse could have a good go in Ascot run two nice 2nd in fast run Class 1 Hurdles in spring and if improving and having a good comeback is a threat here. But didnt convince me on video like the two contenders before.
-The Lays are young 4year olds horses who had the summer layoff, but the gap was too high to Topolski and it was a fast run race, thats the reason for my Lay on both of them.

Good Luck!

Wanna be an author aswell Bob!

Rad am not sure if you get any radio or pics now so have put these notes up for you on your selections running
Batonnier, 3rd for the place! whose stable won this race last year, was appearing for the first time in six months and this was only his third run over hurdles. He soon took a keen hold, but improved to have his chance and was sticking on at the end. He should get off the mark before long.
Richmond was 15lb higher than when finishing second on his one previous run in a handicap. He made a satisfactory seasonal return in a race that provided an inadequate test of stamina for him.
Good Call on the lay Arab League Led at moderate pace, mistake 8th, mistake next and headed, close up when not fluent 2 out and weakened, eased (op 13-2)

Takeroc looked very well in under the penalty he picked up at Aintree last weekend, but he made several mistakes and could never quite get in a blow. He may wellbe able to bounce back although things will obviously be tougher from his revised mark.
I backed the second Via Galilei was sharper for his Kempton run. Improving under a patient ride, he had every chance, but found the winner in determined mood on the run-in. He is capable of winning a similar race from this sort of mark. so we both skittled when Baranpour took it up in the closing stages you wont like reading this bit mate ----A good handicap hurdle which had an open look to it. It was run at a sound pace and the form looks solid with the first two pulling clear after the last. The time was a record.

BRAMPOUR was a useful juvenile last term and a leading contender at one stage for the Triumph Hurdle in which he finished ninth behind his stablemate Zarkandar. Never far away on this reappearance, he flicked through the last when challenging and displayed a determined attitude on the run-in. Likely to stay further, he was running for only the fifth time over hurdles and may have further improvement in him.

Via Galilei was sharper for his Kempton run. Improving under a patient ride, he had every chance, but found the winner in determined mood on the run-in. He is capable of winning a similar race from this sort of mark.

A Media Luz had been found wanting at Cheltenham and Aintree in the spring after making a good start to her hurdles career. She settled well enough on this seasonal return and loomed up to takea narrow lead but could not race on with the front pair from the last. This was a pleasing effort, but the handicapper looks to have her about right.
