oh dear what a day 101111

Funny ole game and I am exactly £5.20 down on the day thanks in part to the vfb top blue for the 4.40 york
cannot say anything but praise for dettori despite him beating my VFB nap into second place it was the outstanding ride of the year from him -- just brilliant

The 4.40 got me out of quite a desperate losing situation despite trading and the long time lay off of Orsippus and the fact that in the past had won on him at aintree at odds of 70/1 and my notes that he is better with a layoff  (my notes  TOOK THE 70S  BETFAIR AND THE 40S DOWN THE SHOP 080410  LOOK WHAT IT BEAT WHAT A STAYER A race that often falls to a top hurdler, Al Eile, Katchit and Binocular being the pick of the winners in recent times, but it looks safe to assume there was nothing of their calibre in the field. The winning time was almost 14sec above RP standard. With the rain still falling, they went a steady early pace in this marathon handicap but it was still too much for a few. The runners made for the stands rail on reaching the home straight.)  its run into third on the flat last time half convinced me and De Sousa on board tipped the balance -- yippeee

ORSIPPUS is better known as a smart hurdler these days and had been given a break since disappointing when favourite on his return to the Flat at Newcastle in May, but the absence seemed to have done him good. Sitting in midfield early, he hit the front well over a furlong from home and soon forged well clear. Now rated 136 over hurdles, he was thrown in here off 63 (1lb wrong) if able to match his improvement over jumps and he could well follow up on the Flat before going back over hurdles. He holds an entry at Haydock on Friday.

amazing that a tenner at 20/1 can turn the book around

Munster national tomorrow will put the stats up in the morning
