I dont care what form book you have as long as its computerised and you can access all of the information all of the time - If you don't have one seriously think about getting one. Racing post on-line at £7 a month is the cheapest and allows you to make notes - it has all the facts including going changes and course correspondent - the down side is you cant compare all of the animals on one sheet nor can you change the going for your race - bit long winded but essential information.
I use the electronic form book VFB - as does Martin who contributes to the page. This is the real deal, as is the Racing interactive form book produced by racing post (unfortunately twice as expensive but a good deal never the less) this gives me everything I want fast and accurately - it costs about £1.17 per day racing ( they don't do free trials have asked them too but the book has such a detailed data base they are reluctant to let it go for free)
its 82 odd quid for 10 weeks then you can get it monthly for about £36.
Now there have to be other electronic books but I don't know of them but I urge you to get into racing and away from daily papers and trying your own - unless that is you have a format that compares - but am willing to bet it wont) you can have any form of analysis horses to follow being the easiest -- am now starting to use the information provided by Ben for Sires that I haven't really been using till now - we are all learning still!
so just to show a little of what a good day can bring here are the postings i put up on Timeform Radio facebook today
2.30 Plumpton Nov handicap chase with some terrible leapers in the nxt at Plumpers - will take a chance with the top weight who seems to like the track - looks too high but in the main jumps well - Take A Mile for interest stakes only --- 3rd at 5/1 (Notebook had to give the winner a stone plumpton too high in the weights but will drop a bit for this 190910 2m4f chase great run)
And tipping my hat to my pal martin -
5.10
snt it great to have some in the locker and you take it in running at 20s - then it went out to 50s and thought my day was gone ---but this family stays and stays - good winners today but that was the most exciting won so well
if you were on the page hope you took advantage - got plenty of congratulations and the book is what done it for me (as they say) - though its yummy to get so many congratulations !
I haven't really been interested in tipping horses - more exchange of ideas - We used to have a forum of Vfb Users and the value of different eyes different notes and postings added to the pleasure of the sport -If you use an electronic book, of any kind, Please let me know I want to expand the blog to more posters and get the ideas rolling.
Am sure Martin will back me up on this -- and no we do not have any financial interest or management of the book - just have used it for 7 years and a bit of a disciple --
Bob T
