Haydock tomorrow

Was looking forward to some decent racing there tomorrow, but if the snow continues to fall there isn't a hope in hell of the racing going ahead.

well the clerk gives it 50/50 martin -- we could be lucky mate - as for ascot now showers are forecast for Friday night when temperatures could dip to -1C so clerk of the course Chris Stickels is deploying frost covers on the track after racing on Friday.
Officials will cover the take-off and landing areas and "other vulnerable areas".

Stickels said: "There are conflicting forecasts for overnight but the one we have is for snow showers tonight and -1C overnight.

"Even with this forecast we would be very hopeful of racing so the 8am inspection is purely to be on the safe side in case it is colder than the forecast."
the two big races for that card are brilliant and will put the stats up after 8am.

Frost covers are down at Newcastle where the mercury is expected to fallas low as -3C overnight. Clerk of the course James Armstrong said only worse than expected temperatures - or a coating of snow on top of the frost sheets - would threaten the meeting.

"We had snow showers this morning which turned to rain, just short of 2mm. At the moment it's 2.5C but I'd expect that to drop to maybe -2C or -3C," he said on Friday evening.
