Sunday continued

Merchant of Dubai, a 6 year old 93 rated flat performer makes his hurdling début today and is currently priced at a tempting 4.6 (BSP). Trained by Jim Goldie, this animal stayed well on the flat and was 2nd in a listed race at Navan in 2010. Has shown that softish ground, however most Dubai Destination progeny prefer faster ground. The opposition isn't up to much though, so a bet looks on the cards.

The 2.40 Warwick interests me because if any rain gets into the ground, complete outsider, Dunkelly Castle would have a great chance now put back up in trip and dropped down to its highest winning mark (5 lbs lower than when beaten only half a length). The marathon trip will suit. Watch for any money.

The Kelso marathon (2.30) is a tough race, and will be run on very testing ground, which swings it to Ballyfitz I.M.O - the distance looks a worry at first glance (14 runs), but ran a cracker in this years Welsh national (finishing 4th).
