Ride of the day ? 211111

Have to say was really impressed with the Win of Derwen Pride in the 3.20 ludlow under a very very cool and collected Brendan Powell - so like his dad the way he got this horse kidded into the race never moving a muscle till it was quickly wrapped up and its well worth  a peek and notebook/analyser for any ride he picks up for the major yards

I watched this run and it was a really good ride. The long straight suited this horse i guess, as it can progressively build up speed from the back. Im saying this, because at the moment I have a look into the subject of long striding horses and to me today the performance of Fontano was also quite respectable, as the Track is not on the list, that suits long striding gallopers. Do you think, that long striding gallopers win races especially, when there is a good pace set and the track suits in building up speed and a long runin?

You picked up on Fontano well mate and agree right on the money for a galloping track the way it strode out from the last - it had won around here before so there is bags of improvement when it gets back to Haydock or Newbury now the yard is firing so well
Thanks for getting me to look at the race again

Yes Im getting now really into the subject in making notes on horses that are suited from their genetic makeup for certain tasks, maybe that would be a subject to go into, as your the one who always laid great importance on this subject. Now Fontano looks to me a horse that needs a fast galloping race with a long runin, but no uphill. Is that right? On the other side there is a horse called Mush Mir, which is a Speedy small Front Runner that seems to me can just win on tracks that are tight and maybe uphill is suited, as it can make speedy moves very fast. Mush Mir won three times in a row, but finished 3rd LTO in Ascot well behind, which is an unsuitable track for this kind of genetic makeup of this horse. Is that a right observation on this horse? Please check it on video and then we could mabe classify certain runners for certain courses?
