Genetic suitability of tracks for horses

Im starting a subject Bob already incorporates pretty well in his handicapping methods and laid great importance of and which Im just really starting to getting into.

Horses have different sizes long galloping strides or short fast strides and so on and different tracks are suitable.

I picked three horses that are to me different in their make up.

Horsetype 1

The small horse with a fast stride which can build up speed very fast.

Mush Mir looks on video a type of this horse...

Won three times in a row in Bangor, Fakenham, Southwell all flat easy tracks with tight bends, on video you could see that it easily dominated the others in front running style changing speed very fast and the tight bends suit this horse.

Now it comes to Ascot and finishes 3rd beaten a long way and I would say from observation, that this is actually not a track that is completely unsuitable for this horse. A track that unsuits is Aintree for this kind of horse, the only thing in Ascot that is unsuitable is the Long run in after the last bend, that does suit more long striding gallopers, but on video you could see that the horse was with them all the time a long way. So Mush Mir seems to me just backable on tracks that are tight easy or tight tracks with a short uphill.

Horsetype 2

Quito Du Tresor Bobs Longshot Selection LTO in Ascot I had the same feeling, it looks on video a small to medium sized horse that can speedy moves pretty quick and profited 3/4 of the race from the Track in Ascot as it didnt seem to me that galloping types have such a big advantage there to build up speed, even if Ascot is a galloping track, there are the big fences, which slow down the animals and the bends are so constructed, that a gradual speed up is more difficult.
Quito profited with his Front Running style quite a long way on this track but showed also good striding quality late on the long run in. I still think a track like Perth is ideal for this horse, as when it meets on a long straight and some good galloping types it more difficult. From my observation I would say ideal are tight bends, uphill could suit, stiff or hard fences are favourable just not tracks like Aintree fast galloping tracks. The perfromance in Ascot still showed its a versatile horse, as the strides on the lon runin werent that bad after a frontrunning performance.

Horsetype 3

Fontano is to me a horse that looks big and needs a fast galloping race with good pace set up on a track that is galloping with long runin. When coming into gear it has long strides and can make up many length has a great advantage in races that were run fast and with tiring animals in a long straight, then his stamina kicks in. I doubt, that uphill runs are suitable for such a big horse with a long stride. Is that right? Im not sure about that actually.

Son in the future I will make my notes more in this manner and when the track looks right then its worth a bet.

Cheers rade!
