Best prize money race in Uk is 2.20 market Rasen and I am going with the peter Bowen animal North Island to win this with a touch of hope that the ground will stay in the main good - an improving animal with the yard getting back its form can easily achieve this mark on this track and is not particularly inconvenienced by a wee bit of soft in the going. Am pretty Confident that Mud Monkey will run a big race - has been entered several times of late but withdrawn on the day - is a natural front runner who can be a very profitable back to lay at this distance on its return after a layoff the price will be excellent for a late lay to secure your outlay
Result - that was a bloody disaster for me - the visors had a negative effect on North Island and I doubt if they will be seen again - up with the pace but simply would not run on when asked by Moore - the drift before the off was telling - as For Mud Monkey it never got the lead was expecting and though was moving down towards my asked for lay the silly bugger simply decanted at four out -- is better than this but what a bloody shambles for me that was.

2.10 Wincanton - have had a chat about Mabel Tasman and looking for it to get into handicaps - well its in a novice stakes today but has been upped to 2m6f and though not as confident as will be when it gets a mark am hoping they wont be running for a lenient one today (though that is a danger) its Exeter run says its cherry ripe for this track and more so the distance - nice bridle performance running into the 4th from miles back still on the bridle over 2m1f -
Result ---- It´s best to presume this was a good race until proven otherwise, as the field finished strung out and the winner was impressive. ROLLING ACES, who chased home his well-regarded now stablemate Rocky Creek in the first of his Irish points before going one better next time, is a fine, imposing sort who looks destined for bigger things judged on this faultless first effort. Indeeed, a strict line through the third on BHA ratings makes this an impressive effort. Paul Nicholls was taking this contest for the fifth time since 2004, and one of his previous winners was Denman, so he´s one to keep on the right side.
Mabel Tasman moved like a decent sort in behind and stayed on well for pressure. This was an improvement on her return from an absence last time and she clearly has a lot of ability. Am sure she is a winner in handicaps but running close to that winner will attract a higher mark than I thought when see her last time - stay in Mares only and that will do for a decent bet this distance
