Reply to getting on the Dodge pot! 201111

too much to post as a comment so forgive me writing the reply as a new post
Funny enough I agree that Sangfroid can show its staying ability in this race Martin - I backed it at Worcester last run there thinking it had the class to beat them  and there was nothing to show his old dodgepot hdles runs - In fact hes a winner without a penalty being checked on the run in and almost forced over the inner rail - would have won easily without that making its mark around the 123 mark  interesting it has the Pieces on today and gets in close to it mark of 126 in its best heavy ground hdles race at Warwick though  in a limited handicap (don't ever like limited handicaps)
Sangfroid should have done better last time at Exeter jumping markedly left and losing ground all the time - Do you think the pieces will sharpen its jumping? so the limited handicap conditions has put  a little too much weight on it to my mind BUT is big enough to carry the weight and you have to say Reveley is a strong enough jock

Has the beating of those who have jumped a fence before apart from Curtis horse Old Wigmore (sired by Old Vic and will relish this soft ground) Her yard is swinging along nicely. It blundered so badly with enough lead to hang himself at the time under McCoy though and this tuffer tack might be its undoing.might do better right handed than that but McCoy could not stop it falling asleep with that lead and are you willing to bet that Aiden  Colman wont go mad and send it on too soon?   NOTES - This looked a decent contest, which should produce a few winners. OLD WIGMORE, who looked unlucky not win on his chasing debut at Ffos Las, got close to the second fence but did attack his fences thereafter and ran on strongly to be a fully-deserved winner. He looks a nice prospect and can win again if kept to a realistic level.

My money will be on Kings Flaming Charlie who is made to  Fence and I love kings débutantes - out of Oscar Shindler (4th top Jumps sire) should love the soft ground and is a confirmed stayer bridle horse over hdles
Notes Exeter first chase 635 dsr Flaming Charlie, off since February 2010, was having his first try over fences and travelled with menace when almost ejecting his jockey out the side door at the twelfth fence. That obviously wasn´t helpful just when the contest was taking shape and his jockey eased right off heading to four out. Alan King reported that the gelding got tired, having made a bad mistake.

but am agreeing with you that Sangfroid  is worth a small bet at a very attractive married man's price!  Notes NEVER EVER BACK THIS RIGHT HANDED

Glad you had a great day At Haydock mate and it was as you say a roof raising performance by the old boy against the young bucks - as said yesterday I thought it was its gold cup and you had to be thrilled by that performance
