well you are having fun with class! 151111

Trying to define Class are we?
What an earth are you on about?  Trying to unpick it I guess your going on about finding the "class" horse for each race --- well forget it . You cannot simply judge each race as if the factors are the same.

First off Prize Money is the place to start - (the rubbish prize only attracts punts by trainers) class does not have a thing to do with any race where the prize money is less than the fare to get there!

Weight makes Donkeys out of Giants. Remember this as an absolute fact  when your weighing up past performances in black type handicap  races .

Ground - only the very very top horses can win on any ground - and that's usually because they have more class' but that's the very  rare exception. Heavy ground killed  Best Mate not just one in a million, he was one in several million.  a horse of  a lifetime. Such an athlete with such a wonderful, effortless action. To Run a multiple Gold cup winner on heavy ground first time out at Exeter soon turned into tragedy with triple Gold Cup winner Best Mate collapsing near the final fence, having suffered from a heart attack.  and little more can be said than that he died a racing great.

Horse racing is full of so many unknowns in each race they enter all you can do is look watch and wonder.

So Good luck with Class as many of you know and point out there are too many variables that are outside of known form to be 100% confident once the gates open or the tapes fly

The parade ring is a must and on track is the only place you can  see /figure if the horse will run to its known Form -- You have to have known form you have to have ideal conditions and you have to have a race where the prize money and prestige is the reason for winning -
not a punt by the trainer not a race to "get it ready" and certainly not AW!

So class is your starting point --- And as important as it is that's all it is.
