RACING UNDER LIGHTS IT'S KEMPTON AW WEDS!!

Hello everyone I do enjoy the AW and took a look at three races from tonights Kempton AW card that took my fancy.

7.00....
Quite a big 14 runner field to contend with here but my preference is for the P Evans trained Astound.

Astound is a French import who ran fairly well in three maidens in the UK before an encouraging run on handicap debut at Wolverhampton in mid September. Looking back at that race despite a poor start and then racing keenly the horse managed to stay on really well, I think if the horse can settle better tonight then things could fall right.

Rowan Light's battling win lto has to put him in the frame too as well as front runner Megalala who if handed an easy lead, dropped back into this company could be hard to peg back (could be a back to lay option).

1.ASTOUND 2.ROWAN LIGHT 3.MEGALALA

8.00....
The 8.00 race is one Im looking forward to as on paper this looks very decent.

The horse I have chosen to side with is Michael Jarvis' runner Jaaryah. Now he has been off since June so does have that break to overcome but the manner in which he won his debut at this track suggest it could be a smart horse. Showing inexperience he made a poor start and being a bit green he soon got the hang of things and finished off the race really nicely. The horse that he beat that day Najoum has since gone onto win his next two races so that piece of form has held up. Today Jaaryah is stepped up to 1 mile which shouldn't be a problem (bred to stay 1m).

Handsome Jack should go well again. Was beaten by a nose last week here but this race looks tougher compared to others he has raced in.

Borug could be the best of the rest. While the progress hasn't been great cheekpieces are applied to try and spark him up again.

1.JAARYAH 2.HANDSOME JACK 3.BORUG

9.00....
Another big 14 runner field here but my pick for this is Commandingpresense.

Now you might think picking a maiden after 38 runs is a bit strange but just looking at this race nothing really screams out to you on recent form on paper and the long maiden tag could be broken. The plus side is that he has been running pretty consistantly of late and looking at the form of those runs it has worked out okay. The horse was second to Titus Gent who has gone onto win again and was 4th last time out behind Dreamacha who went close to completing a hatrick yesterday. Another plus is the horse handles the surface well but the negative is 38 runs 0 victories....I should advise this as an each way bet and the current betfair sp this morning (15's) looks a viable e/w option in this field.

If Only would be my second choice. If Only is another one who has been running consistantly (4,3,4). His only visit to date at Kempton was back in early September where he was narrowly beaten by a 1/4 length a repeat of that kind of run should see him in the mix.

Lady of Gamoran should also go better today. She fell away quite badly last time but that was over 1m2 so dropped back down to tonights 7f I think we could see a much better showing.

1.COMMANDINGPRESENSE 2.IF ONLY 3.LADY OF GAMORAN

thanks for the post - am not the greatest fan of all weather but have the evening free and quite like the chances of Jerrazzi in the 6.30
in the 7pm cannot see anything that points me anywhere.!
in the 8.00 am going with Baroug under Dettori and hes riding off 8-11 is top prize winner and top trainer of your selections
good luck have all your selections noted for any significant money

So Kempton wrapped up for the night the selected horses ran pretty well. Looking at the 7.00 race again I thought Astound was a tad unlucky couldn't get out in time and when he did was too late but still got up for third. The dissapointment was from Jaaryah who I really fancied but only got third I thought cheekpieces could help the winner Borug but thought Jaaryah would still nip it. Onto the last Commandingpresence probably should have shed the maiden tag...unfortunate what happened to Orangeleg but Commandingpresence got second I did advise each way on that one as the winless streak was a concern.

thanks for the Post Nathan - enjoyed a successful evenings punting on the all weather - that's almost a first
as I have been inclined to find the racing too much of a lottery - your advise on BORUG 9/1(15.2 betfair) paid handsomely as did my place bet on the 2nd COMMANDINGPRESENSE - your post made me confident of the race and though it was a tragedy for Orangeleg backers the vfb was very positive on the chances of Goodbye Cash 14/1(18s betfair) --- if you had not posted would not have backed them- thanks Mate
