Looking at the current position and the value of the rides - RICHARD HUGHES bounced-back from a disappointing day on Monday, to register a near 25-1 double at Kempton on Tuesday.
Hughes partnered the John Jenkins-trained Love You Louisto an 8-1 success in the opening 5f handicap and followed that with an inspired ride to lift 15-8 favourite Lady Lam home in the following 1m2f handicap.
The two victories cut Paul Hanagan's lead in the Flat jockeys' championship to just three, with Hughes elevated to the 183 winner mark for the season.
the current betting and prediction has made it a 58% Hannagan and 42% Hughes
Hughes has the classier rides and its going to be a nail biter and a great end to the season -
Stan James had been 1-4 Hanagan and 5-2 Hughes after racing on Tuesday but Hanagan, who has eight rides against Hughes's six at Kempton this evening, is out to 2-5 with them this morning.
Although there has been a general shift in the betting market Hanagan remains a strong 2-7 with Totesport and 1-3 with William Hill, with Hughes 5-2 at Totesport and 9-4 with Hills.

Poor old Hughesy could not get to Kempton as his helicopter could not take off and was said to have driven to the track - without success - that leaves the door open for maximum rides allowed today -(he would have completed his quota of nine meetings for the seven-day period from Saturday under the British Horseracing Authority-imposed threshold.think its all uphill for him - The only consolation for Hughes was that none of his intended mounts got home in front, and Hanagan never really looked like extending his lead.
The title race continues on Thursday at Lingfield and Kempton, with Hanagan and Hughes in action at both venues. Hanagan will start the day on 186 winners to Hughes on 184.
Events culminate at Doncaster on Saturday, where Hughes foregoes the big ride on Paco Boy at the Breeders' Cup in America to give himself every chance of overhauling Hanagan in South Yorkshire.
Speaking at the end of the night, Hanagan said: "I've just got to keep doing as I am and keep my head down and keep going. I am still enjoying it and it is a very lucky position to be in."
Despite his Kempton setback, Coral cut Hughes to 9-4 from 5-2 to come out on top, with Hanagan 1-3 from 2-7.
the score 187-186 in Hanagan's favour and it remained that way until the last race of the evening where both jockeys went head-to-head.
A win for Hughes on High On The Hill would have put him level, but Hanagan was in no mood to surrender his lead and drove the James Eustace-trained Iron Condor (3-1f) home toland a 6.64-1 across-the-card double.
A relieved Hanagan said: “I’ve just been down here all week living out of a suitcase. It’s been tough. I’ve just been hitting the crossbarbut it’s great to get a winner on the board.”
He added of the title battle: “It’s great for racing – it’s just what it needs. I’ve been trying to keep focussed and trying not to worry.”
With Hanagan on the 188 winner mark, William Hill go 2-7 about him landing his first title, while the same firm make Hughes (186 winners) 5-2.
In stark contrast, Paddy Power makes Hanagan a red-hot 1-8 favourite and offer Hughes at 9-2.
ooohhh its looking a bit too close for comfort for me. I laid Hughes at 6.2 a couple of weeks or so ago when it looked like he had no chance at all. Come on Hannnagan!!!
Yep Carole it does look close but it will pure genius if Hughes gets past Hannagan. I must admit the rides Hughes got last night were outstanding and though I think two of his have chances so has Hannagan on at least one - down to the wire - the lady trader is shrewd as ever and the lay at that price looks great at this moment of time
