Saturday: Going, weather and non-runners
DONCASTER GOING:GOODTOSOFT (GoingStick6.7)WEATHER(Sunny)STALLS Straight course - Stands' side; Round course quite flat, except for a slight hill about one and a quarter miles from the finish. There is a perfectly straight mile, and a round mile starting on an off-shoot of the round course. The run-in from the turn is about four and a half furlongs. This is one of the fairest courses in the country, but its flat surface and great width, its sweeping turn into the straight, and long run-in, make it galloping in character, and ideal for the big, long-striding stayer.
KELSO GOING:GOOD (GoingStick 6.4) (Rail moved to outermost position) this is one hell of a track left-handed Kelso course has two tracks, the oval hurdle course of approximately a mile and a quarter and the chase course of approximately eleven furlongs. There are nine fences to be jumped in a complete circuit of the chase course; the last two aren't jumped on the final circuit and the first open ditch isn't taken at the start of the chases over four miles. The run-in, which is on an elbow, is a tiring one of 440 yards. The hurdle track is tight, with a particularly sharp bend after the stands. WEATHER (Light showers)
GOING: GOOD (Good to firm in places on Chase course and in a few places in back straight and on home bend on Hurdle course; GoingStick: Chase 7.9, Hurdle 7.6)WEATHER (Sunny)
WINCANTON GOING:GOOD (Watering if no rain; GoingStick: Chase 8.8, Hurdle 9.7) WEATHER (Sunny intervals) Wincanton is a level course with an oval, right-handed circuit of around a mile and a half containing nine fences. It is essentially sharp in nature and, as such, provides a stiffish test with regards to jumping. The run from the last fence is only about 200 yards. you have to be a fast clean jumper this track and suits handy horses poor jumpers fall or simply get knocked back this is def a horses for courses track
GOING: Hurdle course - SOFT (Yielding to soft in places); Chase course - YIELDING TO SOFT (Soft in places)
CHURCHILL DOWNS GOING: DIRT: FAST;TURF: FIRM (have put up trends for the breeders classic tonight)
