THE RACE YES THE RACE The Hennessy 27th November Bob t

Well guys its Hennessey time and all eyes turn to Newbury. All runners in this race will go onto better things there are some old lights and new pretenders -The rest of the season revolves around these animals. Have had some incredible results just by making notes and following them -- get studying later but for now here is  just a taster for you who like to take an ante post punt
The Hennessy Gold Cup takes place at Newbury on Saturday 27th November. Run over 3M 2½F, it’s a grade 3 handicap chase which usually attracts a high class field of staying chasers. The mighty Denman who won it in 2007 and 2009 is looking to become the first horse to win the race three times. His presence in the race would mean that a maximum of only 8 horses would run off their correct handicap marks. However, with both What A Friend and Silver By Nature likely to take their chance in Saturday's Betfair Chase at Haydock, it's conceivable that as few as six horses will be in the handicap proper on the day of the race.
The other 26 who remained in the race on Wednesday will be competing from out of the handicap. This is not as daunting as first look and you can take a chance on the lower weighted animals who fit the 10 year trends profile - Denman participation will distort the market - winning this race three times will take some doing!
Nicky Henderson said that Burton Port (9-10) will work after racing at Warwick on Wednesday with First Point.
TrendGuy -  someone  I have great respect for on the Racecaller Forum has put up these provisional thoughts and reprint them here
TARANIS he is (7-12) over fences when racing 35 days or longer his record is 11111111(8-8) his latest win came at 16/1 from 766 day absence.
WHAT A FRIEND he is (5-7) over fences goes on any ground not keen at Cheltenham his latest win came over 3m 1f goes well fresh.
SILVER BY NATURE this one will need the run loves sft/hy ground likely go for welsh national once more after this.

CARRUTHERS his fresh record is 225 (0-3) always better for the run loves hy ground (3-3) hates Cheltenham if we discard his seasonal debuts and Cheltenham runs his record is 12111112 (6-8)

DIAMOND HARRY on all runs (9-12) g/s (3-4) soft (4-4) hy (2-3) first time out 1111(4-4) loves Newbury 11131 (4-5) can see this one running a big race if he gets his fav soft ground.

WEIRED AL all his chase wins have come in fields of 5 or less dont think he will like a race like this.

BURTON POINT (5-6) over fences likes sft ground (4-4) could this be the one to take Imperial Commanders crown.

HEY BIG SPENDER 3m+ (1-4) prob be better over slghtly less on g/s/sft 2m6f-3m

cheers

 BobT
